Stand with the US Bishops:
Did SCOTUS realize when making this decision that the government can now tax us for things we DON’T buy, rather than taxing us on the things we do buy?
Did they realize that the government can now require us to buy anything at all, using tax…
That was rude. All opinions about it aside, I did read it, actually, and it’s unnecessary to...

Now that the Federal government can tax you for things you do NOT do (buying private health insurance) I’m excited for new ideas Liberals will come up with:
1) Not buying monthly quota of tofu
2) Not buying a prius
3) Not buying the newest Coldplay album

Did they realize that the government can now require us to buy anything at all, using tax as a punishment? Did they realize that if I’m too poor to buy a required product, I get fined for being poor?

Knowing there are a lot of people out there like Niko, with his attitude of denial and evasion and belief that “the church is the safest place for kids now” makes me actually really relieved I am no longer trying to navigate three little kids through the RCC. With attitudes like that rampant, it’s not only not safe, it’s actively dangerous. Denial is the fertilizer,...

You need Missing E to reply to a reply. And I’ll give you that explanation (I mostly agree with it), but in practice women are the ones, more often than not, that have to take on more of the practical responsibility for chastity.
You may be right about that (that in practice, women have to take on more of the practical responsibility for chastity), but I really can’t get a fair reading...

Modesty, Responsibility, and Common Sense
stine-key replied to your link: Modesty, Responsibility, and Common Sense
Nah, I don’t see how self-control is an onus that is put mostly on men. Care to elaborate?
So first of all, I don’t know how to respond to a “someone replied to your link.”
Do you mean you don’t see how it is an onus actually put mostly on men, like in practice? Or you don’t see how it is an...

I may be a little bit behind with this article, but in light of the recent discussions among women that I’ve been seeing concerning modesty, I think Simcha Fisher writes exactly what I was feeling while reading what some people were saying.
“So, yes, modest dress is an onus that is put mostly on women —just as self-control is an onus that is put mostly on men. This difference is...

“Does contraception lead to abortion? Come and see…”
Excerpt:
For most of my teen years, I openly opposed abortion. When I was occasionally asked if I opposed contraception, too, I always responded like this: “No, I don’t have a problem with contraception, because contraception prevents abortions!” Everyone always agreed with my answer,...

WRONG.
The purpose of government is not to uphold the “rights of the majority”. The purpose of government is to protect the God given rights of every individual. If 99% of the people want to use government against 1% of the people, the job of the government is to protect the 1%.
AMERICA IS NOT A DEMOCRACY.
AMERICA IS A REPUBLIC.
Democracy says that 51% of the people can do...

I’ve been noticing a lot of anti-choice activity on Tumblr lately, and (thankfully) I’ve noticed an even bigger pro-choice backlash to the antis’ posts. And I cannot appreciate all of you more than I already do, I promise. You all are amazing people, and I encourage you to continue taking down anti-choice bullshit when you see it.
But that being said, there are a lot...

It is dangerously stormy outside. I invite a passerby into my house to protect them from the storm. Once inside, they begin to threaten me and make me feel like my safety is in jeopardy. The storm outside is so bad that anybody out there is in serious and immediate danger. By you’re logic, I still do not have the right to force them to leave my house and they have...
